We believe that Christ intends to fulfill the great commission through the church—more specifically, through local churches. Thus, we have always intended to focus our resources on multiplying faithful, healthy, local churches rather than continuing to swell in size. God-willing, we desire to continually send out a portion of our members to help start new works in neighboring cities in need of gospel witness. Since 2017, we have helped to plant or revitalize two churches in our region, and we are actively laboring to launch a third.
After a season of prayer, teaching, and planning, we believe the Lord has led Justin Feland and a group of about 30 people from EBC to form a new church––Shepherd Bible Church in Rosemount, MN, beginning June 2025. As a rapidly growing suburb of the Twin Cities with relatively few healthy local churches, we believe that Rosemount is a strategic location. As the sending church, Eden Baptist Church will continue to support this work through prayer, mentoring, and financial gifts
